The Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor-II continues to be one of the best-selling archtop guitars.
The legendary and Grammy Award-winning guitarist Joe Pass was known for his refined style of Jazz guitar performance featuring a sophisticated melodic technique and the use of harmonic flavor and tasteful tempo shifts. The virtues of the acclaimed virtuoso shine through brilliantly with the signature Emperor-II, which still bears his name today.
Beautifully Made to Sound So Good: The comfortable to play Joe Pass Emperor-II is slightly smaller than the typical jumbo jazz-boxes with a lower bout width of 16” and is constructed with a very responsive select Spruce top combined wth a beautiful Flame Maple back and sides body hand-set to a bright, 3-piece Maple neck. The Emperor II features a single trapeze tailpiece and floating Rosewood bridge, voiced by a pair of full-size Alnico Classic™ Humbuckers and matched aesthetically with an Abalone/Pearl "Tree of Life" headstock inlay and block fretboard inlay. This beauty also features full 1” 500KΩ potentiometers for individually adjusting bridge pickup volume and tone and neck pickup volume and tone as well as Epiphone’s quality all-metal toggle switch and a premium output jack.
